President Palin: oh yah, eh?

Monday, September 29th, 2008

I saw it on Digg so you may have already seen it, but this really bears repeating: the SNL sketch from this past weekend mocking Sarah Palin was a nearly verbatim re-enactment of the actual Palin/Couric interview, with slightly different emphases and pausing for extra comedic effect. That’s the state of political affairs: the late-night comedy shows and political parody people are no longer coming up with scripts for funny spin-offs of real events. They’re just re-playing what actually happened, because it’s already bad enough to make people laugh.

Ugh.

A moment of violent rage

Via BoingBoing - This cannot possibly be true, can it? If it is, then these people will be neither first nor last against the wall when the revolution comes. They’ll be quietly taken out behind the wall, where all the fun, pointy toys and hot pokers are kept, and where a simple gunshot will become a wished-for thing. How does that kind of a mental disconnect happen? On the one hand, you have the opportunity to help poor, amputee children. On the other hand, you have the inconvenience of having to sign all that paperwork to make the dreams of those children come true. It really is a tough call.
